Payment and account charges

We may charge a late payment fee if a payment is still missing after we have tried to collect it. We always warn you before we suspend any service. If you are finding it hard to pay, please talk to us. We can help.

Equipment and visit charges

Missed appointments: You can change or cancel an engineer appointment for free up to 24 hours before. If you cancel later, or no one aged 18 or over is there to let the engineer in, we may charge £60 to cover our costs. We won’t charge if there’s a genuine emergency, or if we missed the appointment.

Site visits: we only charge for a visit when the fault is in your own equipment or wiring, and only if you agree to the charge before the visit.

Early exit charges

If you leave during your 18-month minimum term, you pay the monthly charges left in it. We take off any costs we save because you have left. You don’t pay this if you:

  • cancel within the 14-day cooling-off period
  • leave because we make a change to your contract that is not to your benefit
  • leave because your speed stays below your minimum guaranteed speed and we can’t fix it within 30 days.

Automatic compensation

We pay home customers automatic compensation in line with Ofcom’s automatic compensation scheme. You don’t need to ask for it. The current amounts are:

The scheme’s amounts go up each year with inflation. If your broadband and phone both stop working at the same time, you get one payment. We pay compensation as a credit on your bill, within 30 days.
